Managing Your Bitcoin

Bitcoin is digital money that you can send anywhere in the world instantly, with low fees, and without a bank.

In Flash, your Bitcoin is measured in satoshis (sats). There are 100,000,000 satoshis in one Bitcoin — so even small amounts matter.

Bitcoin is a bearer asset: whoever holds it, owns it. Flash takes security seriously, but it is always good to understand how to keep your funds safe.

Flash gives you a Lightning wallet for everyday payments — fast and cheap. You can also receive on-chain Bitcoin for larger amounts or transfers from other wallets.

  • Send and receive Bitcoin instantly via Lightning
  • Receive on-chain Bitcoin from any wallet
  • View your transaction history
  • Sweep funds to a self-custody wallet for larger amounts

Use a strong, unique password for your Flash account.

Do not share your login with anyone — Flash support will never ask for your password.

For larger amounts, consider moving funds to a self-custody hardware wallet. See our Non-Custodial Wallets guide.

Back up your account — if you lose access to your phone, you will need your recovery details to restore your wallet.

Flash’s Bitcoin wallet is custodial — Flash holds the keys on your behalf. This makes it easy to use but means you are trusting Flash with your funds.

For everyday spending and small amounts, this is fine. For savings or larger amounts, a self-custodial wallet (where you hold your own keys) gives you full control.

See Non-Custodial Wallets for options.
